Beware of Scams

Often times internet companies will say they are offering a free trial and all you have to do is pay shipping.

Some times they do not even ship the trial. Other times, if you do not read the fine print you find that shortly after the trial they automatically charge your credit card.

Herpes

Herpes is one of the most widespread diseases in the world today. The World Health Organization estimates that there are eighty different types of herpes virus strands prevalent. Most of the cases around the world are caused by the HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus) and is spread through sexual and physical contact. The HSV-1 strand of the virus causes facial/oral herpes while the HSV-2 strand causes genital herpes.

Herpes: Symptoms

The signs and symptoms of herpes are dependent on a large number of factors. An individual’s age, the particular strand of virus, and, whether the person is suffering from an initial outbreak or a relapse are some of the factors. Symptoms are the easiest to see in an initial outbreak. Moreover, about30%- 40% of the cases are asymptomatic; that means that they do not show any symptoms despite of having the virus. The only way to find out whether one is infected or not would be regular checkups by a physician.

Facial/Oral Herpes

Initial outbreak

Facial or oral herpes is caused by the HSV-1 strand of the Herpes Simplex Virus. Facial/oral herpes is highly contagious and can be spread through physical contact via the skin, and through infected saliva-from kissing, sharing food and drink, and/or oral sexual contact. Common symptoms for an initial outbreak include sores on the mouth, tingling sensation of the skin of the area infected, fever, fatigue, muscle aches, bleeding of the gums, mood changes and throat aches. The symptoms may last up to three weeks.

Re-occurrence

Facial/oral herpes reoccurs in more than 90% of the cases. Symptoms include low grade fever, headaches, and swollen lymph nodes. In most cases, the re-occurrence seems like an influenza attack. These symptoms can last up to a few days; however, they are milder than those experienced in the initial outbreak.

Genital Herpes

Initial outbreak

Genital herpes is caused by the HSV-2 strand of the Herpes Simplex Virus. It is also highly contagious and is spread through sexual contact. The symptoms before an initial outbreak are usually very mild and start to appear about a week before the outbreak. These include itching and tingling at the area affected. Once the outbreak takes place, fluid filled blisters form at the area of infection, which heal and harden in about two weeks. This may generally be included with difficulty in urination as well as the occurrence of flu like symptoms like malaise, low grade fever, muscular aches and pains, loss of appetite and swelling of the genital lymph nodes. Women may also develop vaginal discharge.

Re-occurrence

Genital herpes reoccurs in more than 50% of the cases. Re-occurrences are shorter and milder than the initial outbreak and are accompanied by prodromal symptoms. These include rashes, sores around the genital area and a shorter healing time. However, a reoccurring outbreak can also be accompanied by flu like symptoms similar to those in an initial outbreak.
